A private prompt library for the prompts you reuse
HyperPrompt keeps your prompts, rules, skills, and MCP configs in one private library. You can save from the web editor or the Chrome extension, find items by title, and reuse them in any AI tool. Nothing you save is public unless you choose to publish it.
Who it is for: anyone who has prompts spread across notes, documents, and chat history, and wants one private place to keep them and reuse them.
Private library vs. public directory
The public prompt directory is for finding prompts other people have shared. The library is for your own working set. They are separate places with different visibility rules.
| Aspect | Private library | Public directory |
|---|---|---|
| Who can see items | Only you. Prompts in a Team workspace are also visible to that workspace's members. | Anyone. You don't need an account to browse. |
| What it contains | Prompts, rules, skills, and MCP configs you created or imported. On Pro or Team, also community prompts you saved. | Items their authors published. A prompt is listed only when it is public, not a draft, and approved. |
| Default visibility | Private. Saving from the editor, saving from the Chrome extension, and importing all create private items. Extension saves and imports also start as drafts. | An item appears only after its author turns on Public or submits it through the public submission form. |
| Where it lives | Inside the app, after you sign in with a verified email. | Public pages under /prompts, /rules, /skills, and /mcps. |
How the library works
- 1
Save
Add items from the HyperPrompt editor after an enhancement, from the Chrome extension (selected text or an improved prompt is saved as a private draft tagged “chrome-extension”), or by importing a JSON file of up to 100 prompts and 5 MB. Imported prompts arrive as private drafts.
- 2
Organize
The library has separate sections for prompts, rules, skills, and MCP configs. You can put personal prompts into colored folders, one folder per prompt. Prompts also carry a category, tags, models, technologies, and IDEs.
- 3
Find
Search filters the current section by title and description. You can also filter by folder, show only favorites, or show only public items.
- 4
Reuse
Copy an item to your clipboard, or download it as a .txt file (prompts) or .md file (rules, skills, MCP configs). You can open a prompt in the editor to fill in its variables, or search your library from the Chrome extension and insert a prompt into a supported AI tool.
- 5
Publish only if you want to
Turn on Public for an item when you want it listed in the public directory. Drafts are never public. The share action only works once an item is public, because it shares the public page link.
Plan requirements
- Free: the private library and the Chrome extension, as listed on the pricing page. Folders, search, JSON import, and single-item downloads are available too.
- Pro ($9/month, or $79 billed yearly): adds saving and favoriting community prompts, prompt versions with rollback, and a JSON export of your whole account.
- Team ($29/month with 3 seats, or $290 billed yearly): adds one shared workspace where members see the same prompts.
Full details are on the pricing page.
What the library does not do
- Search looks at titles and descriptions only. It does not search the prompt text or tags.
- Folders only apply to personal prompts. Rules, skills, MCP configs, and Team workspace prompts can't go in folders.
- Import accepts HyperPrompt's JSON format, which is a list under a “prompts” key. It does not accept CSV or Markdown.
- You can download items one at a time on any plan. A full JSON export of your account requires Pro or Team.
- Private items have no share link of their own. To share one, add it to a Team workspace or publish it.
- Version history covers prompts only. It does not cover rules, skills, or MCP configs.
