Find answers to common questions about HyperPrompt, Cursor rules, skills, and more.
General
What is HyperPrompt?
HyperPrompt is an AI prompt engineering platform that helps developers create, enhance, and share prompts, rules, and skills for AI coding assistants like Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and more. It includes a prompt directory, rules library, skills directory, and AI-powered enhancement tools.
Is HyperPrompt free to use?
Yes! HyperPrompt offers a generous free tier that includes access to all public prompts, rules, and skills, plus 5 AI enhancements per month. Pro plans are available for users who need unlimited features, voice/image input, and premium templates.
What AI tools does HyperPrompt support?
HyperPrompt supports Cursor, Windsurf, Claude, Gemini CLI, Kiro, GitHub Copilot, Antigravity, and more. Our rules library includes configurations for all major AI coding assistants, and prompts work with any AI model.
Cursor Rules
What are Cursor rules?
Cursor rules are configuration files (.cursorrules) that customize how Cursor's AI generates code. They define your coding standards, preferred frameworks, project structure, and other preferences to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
Where do I put my .cursorrules file?
Place your .cursorrules file in the root directory of your project. Cursor automatically detects this file and applies the rules to all AI interactions within that project.
Can I use multiple rules files?
Cursor uses one .cursorrules file per project. However, you can create different rule sets for different projects or combine multiple rule templates from our library into a single comprehensive file.
How do I create Cursor rules?
You can use our free Cursor Rules Generator tool to create customized rules based on your tech stack and preferences. Alternatively, browse our rules library and copy pre-made rules that match your needs.
Skills
What are Skills?
Skills are reusable workflow configurations and capabilities that extend AI coding assistants. They help automate common development tasks like file management, git operations, code generation, and more.
How do I use Skills?
Download skill files from our directory and follow the installation instructions for your specific AI assistant. Each skill includes configuration details and usage examples.
Can I create my own Skills?
Yes! You can create and share your own skills with the community. Use our Submit Skill form to contribute your automation workflows and configurations.
Prompts
How do I use prompts from the directory?
Simply browse our prompt directory, find a prompt that matches your needs, and click 'Copy'. Then paste it into your AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) and customize the bracketed sections with your specific details.
Can I submit my own prompts?
Yes! Create a free account and click 'Submit Prompt' to share your prompts with the community. All submissions are reviewed to ensure quality.
What makes a good prompt?
Good prompts are specific, provide context, define the desired output format, and include relevant constraints. Use our Prompt Grader tool to analyze your prompts and get improvement suggestions.
